Starting a New Page

Lately I was having a very creative period with lots of ideas for new workshops, products, festivals and other crazy ideas!

But just before this great moment of clarity, I was feeling a bit stuck. There were so many new ideas forming in my head, but not taking any direction really. I had a few ideas for new workshops, but as I was putting down my thoughts on paper, they were not so clear anymore. I also wanted to reorganise my creative activities, in order to become more focused, but I was not able to put my thoughts in the right places.

But then one day, while listening to my husband creating music, I suddenly felt an urge to draw… took a nice piace of paper and started constructing lines, that formed triangles, patterns became more complex as I was filling in the page. During this time I had a flow of ideas, things that were sitting in the back of my mind for a while now were coming out like crazy. I started writing them down, filling in pages of my notebook. Those were realisations about the path I wanted to follow in my creative activities, crystallised ideas for the new workshops, and just a general good feeling of relieve. By letting my unconscious take over, I freed my mind!

Now I feel like starting a new page.

On the Road

I am counting the last days in Tijuana. I can’t tell you where we are moving to just yet… because we don’t know that ourselves! But for sure I will keep you up to date. You can always check the trip we are taking on my Instagram profile! I will be posting all the news over there.

Now it is the last week to order from my online shop and Etsy. After that I will have to take a brake and reorganise things. I am not sure when I will be opening up my shops again, so this is your chance! While the shops are closed you will be able to see the samples of my work in here, just go to Portfolio section. And, of course, you can always contact me with your questions, I will be happy to help.

As you might know I also have a shop for products featuring Mexican folk textiles. Right now the future of this shop is very uncertain so you might as well use a chance to get the last items left in the shop. Find Folk Rhythm on Etsy. This shop will stay open while we travel in Mexico and there is a coupon code that you can use to get a 25% discount, just enter FINALSALE at the checkout.

Enjoy before we depart!

Fresh Start

Hello my new blog and dear visitors!

Feels so nice to start fresh! So here I am starting my new blog and leaving behind the previous one. The old blog will still be up for a little while, but time will come to say goodbye, sooner or later. And now let’s make changes and improvements!

Since this is my first post, I would like to tell you a little bit about what I do. My name is Liucija and I am a textile designer, explorer and traveler. Everywhere I go, I look for patterns, textures and colours, get inspired, and create. My work ranges from hand drawn art pieces to handmade textiles products, to experimental video projects, to business planing. And these are only a few things that I like to experiment with. So as you can see I do a bit of everything and I am passionate about it. I hope that all my ideas and creative activities can also be an inspiration for you, my readers.

For the end I would like to invite you to explore my website, visit my online shop and have a look at the other projects I am involved in. Find out more here.

Thank you for reading and see you soon!
